Tan Chin Tuan Foundation National Day Event

I felt that the TCTF National Day event was a really memorable event because the theme was “a walk down memory lane”, I felt that it was meaningful because there were a lot of old folks there and I’m sure they had tons of happy memories of the past. And through the usage of photographs and old games, I’m sure it did trigger their fond memories of the past.

During the event itself, I saw many people who were involved and I thought that it was really well coordinated. There were the different volunteers from the various schools, the performers and all the photographers. I thought that each of them really put in their best for this event to be successful. I saw that the volunteers who were leading their beneficiaries to their allocated area were really caring and considerate, slowly helping the old folks up and down the stairs.

During the concert itself, I thought that each and every performance was really fantastic! The first performance coming from ACS Barker’s Chinese Orchestra, followed by ACS’s Dance group, Y Stars, YMCA Korean Mums and The Little Arts Academy. Especially the finale where the girls who looked really young came up and took the stage singing the song “home” And I felt really touched and impressed by it. And the performances were all so great that they all received loud cheers and applause at the finale when it ended.

Also I thought that it was really well planned that all the beneficiaries had their food at their table even as they arrive from the concert hall to the canteen area for their food. And I saw that all the scouts were all really busy helping to give out the food and serving drinks and I thought that they really did a good job as I did not see anyone taking a break but serving till every last beneficiary went home.

In addition, it was also my very first time meeting all the different beneficiaries and to meet more of the Tan Chin Tuan family members. I think that I had a really good time being able to talk to them and to get to know them a little more.

All in all, I felt that it was a really fun-filled event and I think everyone enjoyed themselves with the fun and games, interactions, the concert and last but not least the food!
