The Magic Flute

Our Saturday afternoon of experience of the Magic Flute started with a workshop at MICA building. There Sylivia from the National Arts Council, introduced the youths from Care.sg to the story, music, instruments and characters from the Magic flute. She showed us the original rendition of the Musical flute and the African rendition that we were going to watch later that evening. As I had no idea about the story line, the workshop was informative and interesting.

I believe the workshop made watching the play more interesting. Having watched clips of the original, the African intrepretation of the Musical flute brought new exciting beats and life to the show. It made it younger and captivating.

I really enjoyed myself. After the show I spoke with some of the youths and they too had a wonderful time and experience. They told me how they would use the energy learned from the workshop and show at the show for thier performance later in the year.
